Make It Happen!

The Gateway Arch is one of the greatest pieces of public sculpture in the world as well as the symbol that defines St. Louis. It overlooks the greatest river in North America. But the number of visitors to the Arch is declining, and the the grounds surrounding it are largely deserted. Meanwhile, the St. Louis riverfront is essentially derelict.

With proper planning, both the Arch grounds and the riverfront could be transformed into a world-class destination that would attract more people from our region and around the world, and keep them longer. These changes could be designed to complement, not compromise, the magnificence of the Arch and beauty of the entire site.
